Chiclayo

Chiclayo is a city located in the Peruvian Northeast and is known as “The Capital of Friendship”, where the Moche culture settled, a civilization that reached high knowledge in hydraulic engineering that was expressed in the extensive construction of canals. Characterized also by using copper intensively, this is a primary reason why the Moche were considered the best potters of Peru and are famous for their huaco-portraits. The most important attraction in Chiclayo is in the museum “Royal Tombs of Sipan”, where we can find the “Señor de Sipan” tomb, a warrior priest and ruler. This extraordinary museum contains an impressive amount of golden, silver, gemstones, carved wood pieces and pottery objects of inconceivable value.
