Puerto Maldonado is a city located in the southwest of the country and is the capital of the Madre de Dios department and is known as the “Biodiversity Capital of Peru”. This department contains a great amount of virgin jungles, forests, rivers and deep landscapes, where its rough geography, innumerable micro climates, and the variety of soils have promoted the development of an incredible diversity of life.
